Façade construction - Substructure

The DuoSkin Tile, KeyClip, SpringSeal and Generation 06 Support Rail are system constants. These system constants are fixed to a substructure that is designed to suit a particular backing wall type. The backing wall type may be dense concrete blockwork infill to a steel or concrete frame, a lightweight steel framing system, timber frame, or some form of existing structure that requires overcladding.

In most cases the Generation 06 Horizontal Rail is fixed to a substructure construction that consists of vertical extruded aluminium angle sections fixed to the backing wall. These vertical sections are usually attached to the backing wall with an adjustable Helping Hand type wall bracket.

The substructure is adjusted to accommodate the tolerances associated with the construction of the backing wall and the Generation 06 Support Rail attached.

Increasingly, backing wall constructions that avoid wet trades are being used. This combined with an ever-growing emphasis on prefabrication ensures that new substructure solutions continue to evolve.

We would be delighted to advise on the most suitable forms of substructure and system configuration.
