Newhams Row, London
Architect : Glas Architects, London
Zandra Rhodes' recent orange and pink factory set the trend for vibrant colours and bold exterior designs, for local developers in the Bermondsey area of South East London. The latest of these, designed by Glas for Acorn Homes, is a small development of fourteen individually designed apartments, set in the middle of the former leather district, and next to the Caledonian market, renowned for its antiquities.
It features a random mix of five terracotta tile colours. This is the first time in the UK that terracotta has been used in this non-symmetrical pattern and it has created one of the most vibrant new buildings in South East London and has become a focal point for this area.
Colours : Naturrot, Perlgrau, Elfenbein, Braun & Vulcangrau Support Structure: Generation 95
